About Us

Background

The CTO Group was founded in 1995 by Asa Lanum and Raman Khanna. Mr. Lanum was previously the Senior Vice President Advanced Technology of OpenVision Technologies, and Mr. Khanna was the Chief Technology Officer for Stanford University.

The initial practice focused on the development of IT Architectures and Technical Reference Models and provided services to a number of financial institutions and Universities. Based on the requests of CTO Group customers the practice quickly expanded to include such areas as Enterprise Architecture, Systems Development Lifecycle, and Systems/Network Management. Over time the practice added IT Strategy, Governance, Portfolio Management, Service Planning and Outsourcing.

Since the founding, The CTO Group has continued to expand staff, but continues to remain focused on only providing the most senior executives to clients. In this way, we can provide the highest quality technical advice coupled with a true appreciation and understanding of the business.
