Philosophy

The CTO Group is committed to providing 'value for money' through superior-quality services to our clients. That means delivering results that meet or exceed expectations. This is accomplished by:

  • Applying efforts to the strategic requirements of the business.
  • Providing information about the latest marketplace and industry knowledge
  • Assisting with application/implementation using appropriate processes, tools and methods

We continually invest in understanding and usage of the latest technological advancements to support our contributions. We maintain up-to-date knowledge of continuing architectural and technological advancements, as well as major product offerings by attending vendor sponsored training classes, industry conferences, seminars, workshops, and hands on work with users and products.

Each client has a continuing relationship with 'their' principal who understands their business and the particulars of the individual company. Since there are no 'junior partners' or associates, we always bring the most senior talent to each client. Because individual principles have extensive knowledge in different disciplines we are able to provide the best qualified person to participate with the client for specific areas. Our job is to understand our clients' needs and culture, to educate them about available options, and to assist in laying out a cohesive plan of action. This is focused on allowing our clients obtain the desired objectives in the most efficient manner.

Much of our leading edge experience comes from working with clients who have invested significant dollars in new technologies and new ways of doing business. We do not believe that a one size fits all approach to a client, project or process will work satisfactorily; each project is structured to meet unique client objectives and concerns.

Our process is founded on the use of open communications and pragmatic analysis targeted at identifying and prioritizing real issues which have a strategic impact. The CTO Group works to suggest alternatives, challenge assumptions, and find realistic solutions in a timely fashion. An integral by-product of this process is to empower the client's staff to identify and solve problems independently.

We believe there are two fundamental client characteristics that typify successful projects. The first of these characteristics is user involvement. As requirements have become more complex and specialized, it is imperative that the user community act as a full-functioning partner in projects affecting them. Any approach we advocate will be based on this premise and is aimed at effecting involvement and buy-in from the functional areas involved.

The second characteristic is that senior management must construct a clear vision of business strategies and objectives and consistently support the attainment of those objectives. This process is initiated by identifying and clarifying the organizations mission and critical success factors. It is supported throughout the project using clear, concise communications articulating scope, timing, and costs.

Our remuneration comes solely from fees from our clients. To maintain our objectivity and credibility, the company is not aligned with any vendor and has no financial interest in the purchase/sale arrangement between our clients and selected suppliers. Our approach to product selection is based solely on our client's requirements to achieve the best solution for their specific environment.
