Why We Are Different

The CTO Group is unique in the capabilities, working relationships and skill sets it provides to clients. The traditional analyst organizations provide valuable products and services that assist users at lower organizational and operational levels. These capabilities tend to be focused on vendor’s products and technologies and focus within specific disciplines such as Application Development, Middleware, Database, and others. This information is not specific to the situation of the individual organizations and the historical perspectives of the companies are not available.

Individual consulting organizations like the traditional management consulting firms or the systems integrators and outsourcing firms provide assistance on specific projects or assume responsibility for discrete portions of a business operation. Although these efforts are commonly in support of major programs on the part of an organization they do not exhibit the broad ongoing interdisciplinary strategic focus that The CTO Group provides. Various ‘boutique’ organizations provide focus on specialized areas of business operation such as human resources, manufacturing, service and support. However, these organizations generally do not bridge the overall enterprise perspective and are frequently engaged after the strategic decision to undertake changes has been made.
