Introduction

The CTO Group implements a mature concept in staffing specialist professional positions. For years, companies have used services provided by outside teams of experts acting as ‘partners’ to assist with their strategic business requirements. Examples of two such relationships would include legal and financial assistance.

Many organizations have a senior executive that is responsible for the legal affairs of the corporation, commonly a ‘General Counsel.’ However, these firms recognize that it is not feasible for a single individual to maintain expertise and current knowledge in all of the necessary areas to cover the scope of potential legal activities given the breadth and depth of information required. As such, the General Counsel regularly retains the services of a legal firm with a variety of specialists to service the needs of the corporation. Similarly, the senior financial executives; Vice President of Finance, CFO, or Treasurer; often maintain a similar relationship with an accounting firm.

The advantage of these relationships is that they provide both breadth and depth of knowledge in areas that are critical to a companies business but would be infeasible or not cost effective to recruit and retain through direct employees. Additionally, a relationship ‘builds up’ whereby the service partner understands the companies business strategies and culture and can apply their specialized expertise to best fit the needs of the company, providing not just ANY solution but the RIGHT solution.

The CTO Group is comprised of senior executives and technical personnel who bring a range of skills, knowledge, backgrounds and accomplishments that is unparalleled in the industry. The CTO Group is comprised of Principals only; there are no associates, junior partners, or other non-executive contributors. Service is provided to clients at the highest level. The aggregate experience of The CTO Group Principals is over 180 years, with individual principals averaging nearly 30 years. The Principals are recognized both within the IT industry as well as the industries of the companies they have served. They are regular authors of a variety of articles, white papers and books and are frequent speakers at a variety of conferences.

The CTO Group provides value to our clients by providing a set of skills and capabilities that go beyond those simply associated with knowledge in a particular field. Principals in The CTO Group provide expertise and experience in the following areas:
